Cradley Sports had their
first defeat of the season following a well matched and entertaining
game.
Cradley started the match
lively with some lovely play and a few chances well saved by the
Newtown keeper. However it was Newtown who capitalised from their
efforts efforts and scored two quick goals to leave Cradley 2-0
down at half time.
The second half saw Cradley
lift their game and following some good attacking play they were
awarded a penalty. Ben Finch stepped up with an excellent shot
which unfortunately fired just over the bar.
Cradley continued to battle
and following some good team play Josh Davies was released to
fire home a cracking long range shot from a tight angle.
Newtown played will with
some good chances towards the end which were well saved by Kurt
Poppleton in the Cradley goal.
The game could have finished
a draw with Cradley having further chances denied in the closing
minutes
