In Cradleys best performance of the season
they battled and showed tremendous team spirit against a strong
Newtown side.
The game started well with
both sides quick off the mark to gain possession, Cradley proved
strong in the midfield battle with Ben Finch and Piers Kirk-Patrick
Jones managing to limit Newtowns efforts in going forward, Cradley
pushed forward themselves and had a good effort by Ben Finch denied.
Cradley provided some good
play but it was Newtown who had the more chances which were well
dealt with by a strong defensive partnership of Max Midlebrook
and Isaac George.
Newtown continued to press
forward and when Alex Doyle was allowed space fired home to give
them the upper hand.
Cradley continued to battle
and were very unlucky to have a dubious penalty awarded against
them which resulted in the scoreline of two nil to Newtown.
Cradley continued their
great effort to the end and were unfortunate themselves not to
score with a close effort by Josh Davies.
Despite the scoreline Cradley
provided an entertaining and battling performance which was well
enjoyed by their many supporters.
