Cradley were unlucky not
to come away with at least a point from a game which was well
matched throughout and which provided some enjoyable and entertaining
football.
Both teams started lively
with shots at both end well saved by both goalkeepers, Newtown
seemed to have the majority of the possession in the early stages
but Cradleys defence proved solid with some good work by Kurt
Poppleton.
Cradley came close with a
chance for Josh Davies and a good long range shot from Ben Finch.
The first half ended goalless
which was surprising from the good play provided by both teams.
The second half saw Newtown start lively and following a change
around saw the goalkeeper switched who raced through Cradleys
defence to score.
Cradley then pressed for
a goal and were unfortunate through efforts from Thomas Fairclough
and some good corner play from Ben Finch and Josh Davies. Cradley
battled hard and continued to provide an excellent display of
football but were unlucky not to get more from the game.
