I don't know if it was the 2 week break or the mixture of sweets and mince pies but Cradley started their first fixture of the new year against Kempsey Colts, who had beaten them before Christmas, like a team hungry for revenge. Kyle Stimson was on fire,and great movement of the ball between captain Mike Adair,Patrick Morgan and Jack Ashman saw Cradley 4-0 up after only 10 minutes,all scored by Stimson. Shortly after Kempsey were a bit unlucky and conceded an own goal,but Cradley kept up the pressure and captain Mike Adair rattled home another making it 6-0. Kempsey kept battling and got a free kick on the edge of the area,George Smith almost pulled off the clearence of the season but the ball just glanced in making it 6-1 at half time. The second half started as did the first with Cradley dominating play and it wasn't long before Jack Ashman added to the scoreline with a much deserved goal. There was no mercy shown by Cradley,and Kyle Stimson got a further 2 goals(six in total) .Kempsey conceded another own goal taking Cradley into double figures but gained some compensation scoring a good late goal with the final score 10-2. A no nonsense start to 2008 for Cradley who passed the ball well and played the whole game with pace and passion. click here to go back to under 11's homepage
