Cricket
Simon Oliver and Kit Holden have made a great start to the season at our
adopted home at West Malvern CC at their Mathon ground . Sessions start
at 6.30 pm for boys over the age of 10 years on Wednesday's . As I write
this , we will be playing Colwall at home and we look forward to a good
game. Any boys wanting to play should just turn up and report to Simon
or Kit . There are plenty of parking spaces at the ground which can be
found just past the Mathon Village hall (coming from Cradley) , round
the bend at Mathon Court and it is signposted on the left . There is a
small £2 charge, split between the club and West Malvern CC.
We have purchased the kit so just turn up !!
We are very grateful to Simon and Kit for their dedicated work in coaching
boys in this great English game.
Simon Oliver is on 01 531 640338 ( evenings ) or Kit on 01 886 880349.
Girls Football
We have made a start on this venture with Jo Walker at the helm. A small
but enthusiastic group have started sessions initially on Saturday mornings
at 10.30 am ( we may change this ) at the school.
Any girls interested under 12 years should call Jo on 07901 975937 for
more details.
Junior Football
The Sunday sessions for the under 7's start at 10.30am at the school and
already we have a budding group of class potential . Come along with your
kids - they love it . Contact Julie on 07815 892033
Annual Fun Day 10th July
We are holding our Annual Fun at the school on 10th July , details of
which will be posted around the village. This is for all of the village
and area and historically has been a great event . There will games ,
competitions for all of the family so DO COME ALONG and support us . There
will food and a bar to help visitors relax and have fun with the club.
The Lynx Marching Band will entertain us plus a disco to keep us moving
.
Friends Group
Becky Finch has agreed to lead this support group for the club and we
are delighted she has accepted. Becky already does so much for the club
that we are particularly grateful to her for taking on this task .
The aim of the group is to promote and implement events to help us raise
money and improve the profile of the club . It also relieves the Coaches
to get on with their work . Becky is on 880124. Come and help her !!
New pitches
We have engaged an ecology company to survey the proposed new field for
our much needed pitches and we are awaiting their report which will be
added to the planning application re submission as soon as possible. The
County officials have insisted on this and the traffic plan before it
can be looked at again.
Hey ho !!
Finally I would like to thank our new Treasurer Geoff Thomas for getting
to grips with the finances of the club . His expertise has already made
an impact and we a glad to have him, having succeeded Nick Bilby who ,with
his family ,are emigrating to Australia shortly . We wish them all good
luck in this bold venture.
