This is the major fund raising
event of the clubs year being held for the second year running at
the Cradley School field on August 18th 2007.
Despite 6 hours of continuous rain , the club raised over £2200
on the day , being well supported by over 400 folk from near and far.
Traditional games of welly wanging, coconut shy, skittles ,speed kicking, netball
skills and rifle shooting plus a bric a brac stall , tombola and raffle
all helped to keep the visitors happy.
The Malvern Lynx marching band led the football teams in their new
stips, in a spectacular parade which included all the clubs coaches
and the main sponsor Allan Morris and Ashton's Richard Ashton and
Alan Morris . The official presentation of the new kit over, the crowd
was entertained to some fast flowing football from all the clubs teams
and the visitors from Ledbury Swifts whose girls took on our girls
squad .
A barbeque and pig roast and
bar were popular locations on the site with spectators having to be
urged to leave as the light dimmed.
Presentations of the various prizes took place in the school hall
due the rain for which we are very grateful to Caretaker Ann Howe
and the Head Dawn Hyett for assisting us in this regard.
A great time was had by all and a very muddy and soaked team of volunteers
tidyed up afterwards for which we are VERY grateful.
Special thanks must go to Julie Finch whose organisational skills
made it all so successful and the gang of supporters who helped throughout.
Thanks a lot to you all. Our new club banner was revealed for the
first time - it reads
SPORT IS FUN - JUST DO YOUR BEST
That is what we are about . Come and join us and keep our children
fit and out of trouble...
