Moving
forward on our new pitches...

I am pleased to tell
you all that last night I received a call from the Chairman of the Governors
of Cradley School, who advised me that the Governors that evening, had
agreed to accept the Herefordshire Council's offer for the school field
as was originally intended. The lease of the land can now be progressed
once the legalities are conluded.
This brings to an end this 16 month saga which has delayed the progress
of the field development we need so much. We can now proceed to seek
funding for the project once the planning application is concluded in
the next few months.
The wear of the current pitch is all too apparent as we were warned
about by The Football Foundation , and with the extra teams we are fielding
next season can only take its toll. With that in mind we have opened
negotiations with the owners of the approx. 4 acre field to the east
of Buryfields to establish a full size soccer pitch to accomodate under
12's in the season 2008/9. This means we have to establish the field
before the end of this year ie levelling and seeding etc.to allow the
ground to settle .
This will mean we have to redouble our efforts to make a success of
the fund raisers we are holding this Summer to take care of these early
costs. I am continuing my quest for the larger funding as before, prior
to the major capital funding application.
Thank you all for your patience during this long delay, but we can now
steadily move towards our goal of establishing our sports centre .
Kind regards
Frank Hare Chairman of the Trustees of Cradley Sports Club
